I am very sorry for your loss Judy and Rebecca. My heart goes out to both of you along with the rest of your family. I hope you can take some solace knowing that no parent can ask for anything more than receiving the love and care that you showed and gave to your Mom. The pain of the last several days may fade but the memories only grow stronger. My Yiddish has faded but you are both Mensch’s.

A world without Cousin Sandy’s great wit and warm humor is a sadder place. All of us on the Crovitz/Lusterman side of the family loved Sandy very much and we will miss her.

Judy, my thoughts and prayers are with you, Rebecca, Milo and family. I will hold your mom’s memory close to my heart always; I have literally known her for as long as I can remember. And although I didn’t see her often throughout the years, I always enjoyed the visits we did have. I’ll always cherish the memory of my visit last spring, when mom was still well enough to laugh and joke. Her sense of humor was one of her greatest gifts. Your love and devotion to your mom were among her greatest blessings. Your generous nature and the enormity of your heart are an amazing legacy for your mom to leave. My thoughts and prayers are with you and I will see you soon, Love Lori

Dear Judy, Rebecca, Andrew, and Claire,

I’m sorry to be 3,000 miles away and not able to be with you, but I’m certainly thinking about you and my dear cousin Sandy. I had a mad crush on her when I was a boy and it lasted all my life. When I would spend a weekend at the Crovitz house on Wentworth Avenue, Sandy would take me bowling (duckpins) and to the Newport Creamery for cabinets (Awful Awfuls). She was always the most care-free of all my relations. When she first brought Harry to a big family gathering at Nell Lee and Gladys’ house in Fairfield and announced their engagement, I was absolutely devastated and it took a few years before I would take Harry seriously. Eventually we became pals but I maintained the rivalry well below the surface! I know it sounds like I’m just nattering on about myself but I’m really talking about your mother and all the love and kindness she engendered. I imagine that all the kids she taught and the families she touched felt the same radiance.

Much love from David, Kippie, Lyzy, and Joey

So sorry to hear about Sandra’s passing. I enjoyed being a student in her Sunday school class and always enjoyed our numerous chats at Temple Beth Israel, as I did also with her mom Natalie. May all your dear relatives rest in peace.
