Albert Lichaa

Lichaa, Albert, 62, son of the late Lacey and Mathilde (Massouda) Lichaa, passed away at home on July 30, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  For over 30 years, he was the beloved husband of Phyllis (Goldstein) Lichaa and adored father of Andrew and Ariel.   He was the cherished brother of Suzette (Dr. David) Marzouk of Boca Raton, FL, Marlene (Dr. Fred) Chamuel of Miami, FL and the late Amin (Laurice) Leesha of Brookline, MA.  In addition, he was the beloved brother in law of Arthur (Cookie) Goldstein of Boynton Beach, FL and dear uncle to many nieces and nephews.  Albert graduated from URI with a BS in Electrical Engineering.  For 36 years, until forced to retire due to illness, he worked for the Federal Government in the Department of Defense.  During most of that time he lived and worked on Aquidneck Island in Newport and Portsmouth.  Albert was a quiet, honorable and kind gentleman who was respected by all.  His greatest love and concerns were for his family, his beloved dogs Bentley and the late Charlie and his cat Oliver.
 Funeral services will be on Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  Shiva will be observed at 71 East Terrace, Portsmouth, Sunday from 7–9 and Monday from 2–4 & 7–9 pm.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice or Astra Zeneca Hope Lodge, 125 S. Huntington Ave., Jamaica Plains, MA 02130 or The Visiting Nurse Services of Newport & Bristol Counties, 1184 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, RI 02871.

    May he rests in peace. I have known Albert since he was a teenager and loved him like a brother. He was a kind individual. He is going to be missed.

    My Deepest Sympathies to all who loved Al. I worked along side Al for many years in Newport, and in Groton Ct. He was the best, always a gentleman, and I am truly saddened by his passing.

    I am truly saddened to hear of Al’s passing. I loved working for Al and treasured his friendship, honesty, trust and integrity. We worked hard to achieve a lot and will always think of him with fondness and affection.
