wil was my hope high school classmate and friend. we met on the Narragansett beach sometimes and reminisced. I also knew his first wife and perhaps even, once, dated her! we all started out near roger Williams park. anyway, wil was always a wit and a delight and we were on the very Best of terms on all subjects. I am so very, very sorry to read of his passing and wish his children and grandchildren the very best. remember him as a good-humored, loyal, highly intelligent, and just genuinely terrific human being. I feel diminished by his death!! would have come to the memorial service or the shiva if I were more computer-literate. I am of the old school, cursive writing, straightforward connections and communications. anyway, my honest and heartfelt sympathy! mike fink.

I was in the class of 1955 at URI . The person I remember the most , after 59 years, is Willie. He was the best comedian on campus. We enjoyed his wonderful wit. His name has been pleasantly remembered over the years.

I was a junior high teacher and principal. I can picture Willie captivating his classes. I bet he is one teacher they will not forget.

He physically has passed, but his memory will live on.

    God Bless, Chuck

My wife and I were driving back home to Schenectady from New Paltz today after baby sitting for our grandson Jacob. We went to school in the early 70′s and worked at the Raleigh Hotel. We started to reminisce about the great comedians we used to see at the Raleigh, especially the late show. Your late husband’s name came up and I could not wait to Google it. We sorry to hear of his passing. His memory is for a blessing. Jeff and Barbara Walton

I am sorry for your loss…I just discovered Willie passing. My condolences go out to his entire family. I have soooo many fond memories of Willie and my father; watching their shows, their jokes, skits and music. Makes me smile even now when I think of their United Nations bit and Willie’s imitations of Ambassadors from various nations…. his trumpet playing…and his smile. Magical!
