Bernice Phyllis Manekofsky, 86, died Thursday, January 4, 2024 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice, Providence. She was the beloved wife of the late Irwin Manekofsky. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late David and Johanna (Lemchen) Bloomberg, she had lived in Cranston since 1961, previously living in Providence. She was co-owner of the former Imperial Textile Company with her late husband in Central Falls, retiring in 1990. Phyllis was a member of Hope Link and Women’s American ORT. She earned her BA from Boston University.
Devoted mother of Cindy Gershin and her husband, Scott, of Stevenson Ranch, CA and Lisa Manekofsky of Cranston. Dear sister of the late Natalie Knasin. Loving grandmother of Jaiden Gershin. Cherished aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. Shiva will be observed at her late residence, 58 Tupelo Hill Drive, Cranston, Monday 6-8 p.m.
