Brown, Stephen M., 82, of Warwick, died Saturday, December 14, 2013, at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, East Providence. He was the beloved husband of Susan (Hahn) Brown for 53 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Robert Brown and Ida (Samuels) Brown Jagolinzer, he had lived in Warwick for 44 years. Stephen was a vice president at the former RI Hospital Trust Bank in Providence and New England Savings Bank in New London CT for many years, retiring in 1995. He was a Korean Conflict veteran serving in the Army then the Army Reserve, retiring as a colonel after 35 years. Stephen was a URI graduate, Class of ’53 and past president of the URI Alumni Association. He was a member of Temple Beth-El and life member of Overseas Lodge of the Masons. He was past president of the RI Jewish Historical Association. Devoted father of Allan Brown and his wife, Calissa, of Garnet Valley, PA and Roberta Brown of Santa Monica, CA. Dear brother of R. Eleanor Brown of Pittsburgh, PA. Loving grandfather of Laurel and Ian. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the RI Jewish Historical Association. Shiva will be observed at his late residence Wednesday 7-9 and Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
