Janet M. Chaiken

CHAIKEN, JANET
90, died Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in Warwick, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Jacob (Jake) Chaiken. Born in Worcester, MA, the daughter of the late Tillie and Arthur Sterling, she was a longtime resident of Warwick, RI.

Janet worked as an administrative assistant in a medical office for many years while raising her family.   She was fortunate enough to travel to many unforgettable places in her lifetime, but nothing was as important as encouraging togetherness for her family.
She leaves behind her three children: Alan Chaiken and his wife, Rachel, of Hopkinton, MA, Karen Chaiken of East Providence, and Mark Chaiken of Virginia Beach, VA. She also had two grandchildren: Abbey Sklar and her husband, Adam, and Emily Crowshaw and her husband, Thomas, along with two great grandchildren: Hailey Crowshaw and Jacob Sklar. She also leaves behind her best friend of 50 years, Bette Pitchon. She was the sister to the late Robert Sterling.
The family has requested their privacy for both the funeral service and shiva.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation (www.parkinson.org) or the Rhode Island SPCA (www.rispca.com)
