Seymour “Sy” Norman

Norman, Seymour “Sy” , 82, of Tockwotton on the Waterfront, died Thursday, July 18, 2013 in Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center, Providence. He was the beloved husband of Edith C. (Weinbaum) Norman for 60 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Harry and Rebecca (Baker) Norman, he had lived in East Providence for 6 months, previously residing in Warwick. Sy was self-employed in various businesses, most recently Magic Automotive Center in South Attleboro, for 16 years, retiring in 1995. He was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of ‘48 and URI, Class of ’53, with a Degree in Agriculture. Sy was a member of Touro Fraternal Association and a former member of Temple Beth-El. He was an artist and painted many pictures throughout his later years. Devoted father of Robert A. Norman of Westerly and Sandra Lamchick and her husband Andrew of West Warwick. Dear brother of Shirley Berson of Seekonk, Deborah Armenti of Warwick and the late Yvonne Martin. Loving grandfather of Shaina, Leah and Jaime. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Tockwotton on the Waterfront. Shiva will be observed at Tockwotton on the Waterfront, 500 Waterfront Drive, East Providence, Sunday 7-9, Monday and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
