I was saddened to hear of Carol’s passing. I first met Carol when I was in third grade and made friends with Betsy. She always made me welcome no matter how often I came over to the Miller’s house. Carol was a great supporter of our fun times. When the Millers moved to Massachusetts after our 5th grade year, I visited them for an entire month when I was 12. Carol toured me and Betsy all over New England showing us historical sites. How she tolerated listening to the Monkees all day long that summer, I’ll never know. Carol was a warm and generous person and was a pleasure to know. Her love for her family was boundless, and I know she will be missed.

I first met Carol when I was hired to work at the Little Professor Book Store which she and Charles owned. She was kind, intuitive, and wise. I enjoyed knowing her and working with her. After the book store closed, we went our separate ways but reconnected last January just before Covid changed everything. I am so glad I had that last chance to spend time with Carol as she, Betsy and I chatted and caught up with each others lives over lunch. I hope she is now spending time with her beloved Charles who she called her “knight in shining armor.”
