My condolences on the passing of your loved one. Mr. Ladd was a super nice man. I remember his store in Garden City. You could always count on him to have the latest hits and chat with you for a bit. I would frequent his store every week to purchase records. Fond memories of a great man.
With deepest sympathy
Sorry for your loss
George and I send our condolences to you and your family
Growing up in Cranston in the 50′s, I often went to the store on Park Av., after high school to buy records after high school.
Mr Ladd was always great with his young customers. I am truly sorry for your great loss.
I bought my first record albums from Ladd’s Music in 1965, The Kinks Greatest Hits and Cream’s Disraeli Gears (still a favorite).
Ladd’s Music in Garden City was a place nearby to look and listen, even if your budget couldn’t afford a purchase. Mr. Ladd never chased anyone away and was always accommodating to questions and requests. Thank you Mr. Ladd for filling our adolescent souls with the music and spirit they yearned for. My sincere condolences to you Steven and family.
Mr. Ladd was a kind and thoughtful man with a lust for life. He always had a cheery smile and a warm spirit. I so enjoyed his hearty laugh. He loved his cherished partner and beautiful wife and their very special family. He was proud of his children and he introduced many of us to the universal language of music. Without question, Mr. Ladd made the world a much happier place. We will all miss him. Peace. Love to the family. xo Steve
I had the privilege of knowing and working with Seymour in the years prior to his founding of Ladd’s Music Store on Park Avenue in Cranston. I am very sorry to learn of his passing. He will be remembered as a good, talented and honorable friend.

I was a teenager 65 years ago when I met Seymour in his music store. He was the nicest, friendliest person. He always helped me when I visited the store and had many good suggestions for great records and music sheets. I have remembered him all these years. I send my sincere condolences to his family at this sad time.
I am so sorry for your loss Aunt Shirley and family.
I have fond memories of Uncle Seymour. May his memory be a blessing.
Deepest sympathy at this time of loss to all members of the family. May you find strength in his legacy as a man of honor and virtue.
I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Seymour. I am so glad I got to see him, although it was only to say hello, this past January.
Sending hugs to the family.
Shirley. So sorry to hear about Seymour’s passing.
Mr. Ladd gave Rhode Island a magnificent gift of music for such a long time; he was an institution in himself, and a beloved one. His wonderful music store was the go-to place for generations of music-loving Rhode Islanders, and his presence was such an inspiration. I went on to spend most of my life in the music industry, and Mr. Ladd played no small part in that, for sure. I am so sad that he is gone. I pay tribute to a smart, savvy, passionate true music lover and a kind and decent man; may he rest in peace. His legacy is huge.
So Sorry for your loss

My condolences to the whole family.
I worked for Seymour during my college years, more than 50 years ago. He always treated me well and I considered him a lifelong friend.
We spoke on the telephone about six months ago and I am really glad we did.
I will miss him.

Seymour was a wonderful man and will be missed. My sincere condolences to Shirley and the entire family.
Condolences to Seymour’s family. What a wonderfully patient man!! In the 50s, many restless pubescents would ask to hear those rock and roll hits, many of which became classics, and Seymour would patiently play those 45s for us. Unlike other music merchants, he would never chase us away. Throughout the years, I would run into him and he was always cheerful and still ready to talk about music.
With our deepest sympathies…
