Alan Friedman

Alan Robert Friedman, 66, of Breakers West in West Palm Beach, passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019. Formerly of Rhode Island, he and his wife Carol relocated to Florida in 2016. In addition to his beloved wife Carol, Alan was the devoted father and father-in-law of Lauren and Richard Koblick, Allison and Ian Horowitz and loving grandfather of Madison and Dylan Koblick. He was the loving son of Murray Friedman and the late Shirley Friedman, brother of Brian (Bobbie) Friedman and Gary Friedman, son-in-law of Phyllis Goldberg and the late Dr. Norman Goldberg, and brother-in-law Jeffrey Goldberg.

Alan was a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and in Rhode Island was vice president of a family owned business with locations in Providence, Warwick and Seekonk. An avid sports fan, Alan enthusiastically supported his Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots teams.  He was a selfless man, always caring for everyone else before himself.

The funeral will be held at Temple Beth-El in Providence, where Alan has been a member for over 40 years. Services will be on Monday, September 9 at 11:00 A.M. followed by interment in the Sons of Israel and David Cemetery.  Shiva will be observed in Rhode Island at the home of Brian and Bobbie Friedman on Monday, September 9 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and in Florida at the home of Lauren and Richard Koblick on Wednesday, September 11 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

    Alan Friedman, Alan Friedman, ALAN FRIEDMAN!! Remember him! Alan was a real Mench! One of the first friends I met when I moved to the side at the ripe old age of 11 years young. We became fast friends and Alan will never know how important a person he was in the character of my life. I’m so thankful that we stayed in touch and saw each other a few times in recent years. Reconnected and you texted me one last time a few days before God had his plans for you. I will always save that text:)

    Some one recently mentioned Murray’s on Facebook…and I mentioned how I worked there.. and mentioned many names including Alan’s. One posted mentioned of his passing… I am saddened we had some fun times working in TV and Cameras and having Alan come down to sneak a peak on the screen for the Pat’s score.. He was a great guy to work for….wish I could have seen him in the last few years to reflect… he was a great guy…
