Joel M. Medwin

Medwin, Joel M., 81, died Wednesday, July 10, 2019 at Steere House.  He was the beloved husband of Sondra (Alberts) Medwin for 54 years.  Born in Providence, a son of the late Benjamin and Dorothy (Weiner) Medwin, he had lived in Cranston for 51 years, before moving back to Providence 3 years ago.  He was a marriage and family counselor and the former executive administrator of Pawtucket Community Mental Health Clinic, retiring in 2008.  Joel was a graduate of Classical High School, Providence College, and University of Connecticut. He was a former member of Temples Sinai and Beth-El.  Devoted father of Lauri Fine and her husband, Keith, of East Greenwich and Steven Medwin of Miami, FL.  Dear brother of Enid Stewart of Lincoln, RI.  Loving grandfather of Madelyn, Bennett, Jessica, and Scott.  Graveside services will be held SUNDAY at 9:15 a.m. in Lincoln Park Cemetery, 1469 Post Road, Warwick.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Steere House, 100 Borden Street, Providence, RI 02903 or your favorite charity.  Shiva will be observed at the home of Lauri and Keith Fine, 46 D’Agnillo Drive, East Greenwich on Sunday from 12-8 p.m. and Monday 2-7 p.m.
