Bercovitz, Claire E., 94, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Hallworth House. She was the beloved wife of the late Henry Bercovitz. A lifelong resident of Providence and longtime resident of Pompano Beach, FL, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Tillie (Richmond) Villany. Devoted mother of Alan Bercovitz of Exeter and Nancy Bercovitz of North Providence. Dear sister of Gloria Holland of North Carolina and the late Philander Villany. Loving aunt, grand aunt and great-grand aunt of many nieces and nephews. Cherished cousin of several.  Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 28th at 11:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the charity of your choice.  Shiva will be observed at Crowne Plaza, 801 Greenwich Ave., Warwick, RI 02886 on Sunday 4-6 p.m.

    I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I feel like I knew her from all your shared stories. She was a wonderful Mom, fun companion, and loved by all who knew her. She will be watching over you both. My heart is with you in this sad time

    Mom lived a wonderful life with a great husband that died too early, & two beautiful caring children that learned from her what caring was all about. She was so proud of you.

    So sorry for your loss. Claire was upbeat and it was a pleasure to talk with her. You both were always so caring and attentive to her and I know she was so very thankful for that.
