Henry Shapiro

Shapiro, Henry, 97, died Monday, November 5, 2018 at RI Veterans’ Home.  He was the beloved husband of the late Bernice (Dressler) Shapiro.  Born in Pawtucket, a son of the late Hyman and Pauline (Rubin) Shapiro, he had lived in Bristol for 2 years, previously living in Warwick and Cranston.  He was the owner of H.S. Distributer for over 40 years, retiring in 1983. Henry was also a private music teacher for 17 years.  He was a World War II Army veteran, serving in European Theatre.  Henry was a former member of the Mason’s Barney-Merry Lodge.  Devoted father of Howard Shapiro and his wife, Janice, of Cranston, Rhonda Fallk and her husband, David, of Clark Summit, PA, and Kenneth Shapiro of Las Vegas, NV.  Dear brother of the late Jacob Shapiro, William Shapiro and Frances Salk.  Loving grandfather of Derek, Rebecca, Murray, and Stacy. Cherished great-grandfather of Londyn and Rivyr.  Graveside services will be held WEDNESDAY at 10:30 a.m. in RI Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hadassah, 17 Pocahontas Dr., Middletown, RI 02842.  Shiva will be observed at the Holiday Inn Express, 901 Jefferson Blvd, Warwick on Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.
