Samuel “Mickey” Finn

Finn, Samuel “Mickey”, 73, died Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Coventry Skilled Nursing. Born in Providence, a son of the late David and Esther (Greenberg) Finn, he had lived in Wakefield, previously living in Cranston. He was the owner of Footsteps Shoe Store for 12 years. Mickey was a Viet Nam Army veteran, with the 25th Infantry Division, receiving the Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, and Viet Nam Service Medal. He was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of ’63, and attended Roger Williams College in 1968.   Mickey was active at the Jewish Community Center as President of Narragansett AZA and an advisor to Mazada AZA.  He was also a member of Doric Lodge #38 and Viet Nam Veterans Association of RI.  Father of David, Steven and Tracy Finn. Grandfather of Dahlia, Izaac and Shelby. Graveside services will be held MONDAY at 2:00 p.m. in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 S. County Trail, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Vietnam Veteran’s of America, 8719 Colesville Rd., Ste. 100, Silver Spring, MD 20910.  Shiva will be private.

    I grew up with Mickey……it wont be the same without him!!! May he rest in peace which avoided him in life. Baruchas for his kids.

    I’m so sorry. I remember my mom taking us to visit him in Rhode Island. She and Mickey were always close.

    I went through school with Mickey in the 1960′s in providence at hope high.we had a nice time hanging out….It saddens me to see people I grew up with in the newspapers passing away. My deepest sympathies to his family.
