Abrahms, Robert E., 92, died Monday, June 4, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte R. (Greenfield) Abrahms. Born in Medford, MA, a son of the late Herman and Sarah (Rosemont) Abrahms, he had lived in Warwick for 7 years, previously living in Houston, TX for 35 years. He was the executive director for the Development Corporation for Israel in Houston TX and during his tenure lead the office to achieve the highest sales of Israel Bonds in the world. Prior to this, he was an area director for MetLife in Gloucester, MA. Robert was a WWII Navy veteran, serving in Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Masonic Temple in MA on the North Shore and a former member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun in Houston, TX. Devoted father of Jill Sholes of Warwick, RI. Adored grandfather of Adam and Lauren Sholes of Cranston, Noah and Jaclyn Sholes of Foxboro, Hope and Charles Pinder of Petersham, MA and the late Marc Sholes. Cherished great grandfather of Madalyn, Caroline, Charlotte and Maxwell. Dear brother of Fred Abrahms of Cleveland, OH, Jonathan Abrahms of Hartford, CT and the late Clarise Berenson and Joseph D. Abrahms. Loving brother-in-law of Marilyn Lamb and her husband, Hy, of Sharon, MA. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, at 10:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Jewish National Fund, 78 Randall Ave., Rockville Centre, NY 11570. Shiva will be observed at his late residence Wednesday 7-9, Thursday 2-4 & 7-9 and Friday and Sunday 2-4 p.m.

Bob was a man of true vision. Even in his later years when his physical eye site deteriorated, he could still “see.” Many times in life you don’t know what you had until you’ve lost it. Not so with Bob! Those of us here in Houston, Texas who worked with Bob during his 35 years with Israel Bonds KNEW what a special man he was and how fortunate we were to know him. He was a blessing to us in life. May his memory continue to be a blessing to us all.
