    Dear Binyamin and family:
Margot and I are so sad to hear that such a wonderful woman has left this mortal coil so soon. Please accept our sincere condolences and prayers of support for you and your family at this time. I had the distinct honor and pleasure of working with Fruma during her years at the new Rhode Island Department of Education, which had consolidated all of education, elementary secondary and postsecondary under one Board of Regents> This new system required new thinking about the relationship of the learning process to the way in which it is delivered for maximum effect to fit a students talents and aspirations. Fruma was the perfect thinker to help with this broad goal, as her extremely intelligent mind and forward perspective brought many great analyses to the Board of Regents and the people of the state of Rhode Island that resulted in many positive changes in education in those years. Her talents were highly respected by many leaders of the state at that time and continued when I left the department. Her advice was always quite positive after that time on many public policy issues that I had the opportunity to discuss with her. She will be greatly missed by the State of Rhode Island as one of its very unique and brilliant treasures.
    Sincerely,
