I hired Steve into Draper Lab.
In addition to his technical cabilities in operation research Steve was a great advisor to many Draper students.
I thought that his nomination to education director was a culmination of his contribution to his students success.
    I will miss him
    Eli

I was very saddened to hear of Stephan’s passing. At Draper we collaborated in support of MIT’s middle and high school programs for minority students. Steve was a wonderful, deeply committed director of education overseeing the Draper Laboratory Fellows Program for graduate students and personally mentoring tech staff and students while managing technical work. I appreciated being able to seek his advice while mutually supporting one another in common goals. My deepest condolences to Ann and Sarah.

As the senior MOED family genealogist, it grieved me to learn of Stephan’s death from his fond brother Byron. We never met, to my great regret, because I lived in Miami before moving to Los Angeles in 1999. I send my heartfelt condolences to his wife and all his immediate family members. Fondly, cousin Henny in Los Angeles, CA.
