Feldman, Joan P., 87, died Wednesday, January 17, 2018 in Delray Beach, FL. Born in CT, daughter of the late Helen Goldis, she had lived in Boca Raton, FL since 2002, previously living in Cranston and Pawtucket. She was an art teacher at Shea High School in Pawtucket for over 20 years, retiring 28 years ago. Joan earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhode Island School of Design, and Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Brown University.  She was a member of the Providence Art Club, the Boca Raton Watercolor Society, and the Artist Guild of Boca Raton.  She was an accomplished artist, working as a painter, and watercolorist.  Devoted mother of Donna Feldman of Denver, CO and Linda Solomon and her husband, Marc, of Boca Raton, FL. Loving grandmother of Ilana Solomon. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 9:00 a.m. in the PRIEST CHAPEL in LINCOLN PARK CEMETERY, 1469 Post Rd., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.  Shiva will be private.

    I remember walking into Mrs. Feldman’s class at Shea High and seeing this teacher who looked like a fine piece of art. Mrs. Feldman would explain different shades and colors to the class and i would be thinking where the hell are the crayons, I thought we were going to play with crayons. May your brush always be full and sharp

    I taught with Joan at Shea High for more than twenty years.She was a talented artist and generous teacher. Joan’s encouragement inspired the most talented students to grow their gift and the average student to do their best.
