Selma Dubey

Dubey, Selma, 96, died Sunday, May 7, 2017 at Wedgwood Gardens. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Charles Dubey. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Morris and Gertrude (Broomfield) Kaufman, she had lived in New Jersey since 1978, previously living in Rhode Island for 50 years and California for 4 years. She was an expediter at Brown & Sharpe in Providence for 20 years, retiring in 1978. Selma was an avid knitter, reader and storyteller. Devoted mother of the late Steven H. Dubey and Barbara J. Bergen. Dear sister of John Kaufman of Coventry, RI and FL, Melvin “Marty” Kaufman of Cranston, Frances Rodynsky of Boca Raton, FL and the late Leo Kaufman, Sadie Shanfield, Evelyn Goldberg and Florence Cannon. Loving grandmother of Hillary Bergen, Alexander Dubey and Christina Morgan. Funeral services and shiva will be private.

    My deepest sympathies to you Paul and your family I was so glad when I got to see Selma at Wedgwood gardens before she passed she always meant a lot to me I always enjoy taking good care of her when she was at Brandywine . Selma I will always love you Five oxox

    Sussie had us over at their home when they lived in Providence for Sedar she served Rice Krispie Treats which I told her many times when I made that treat we think of her. Always a special aunt to both Howie & I. Thanks Sussie we love you!

    So sorry to hear of Selma’s passing. I worked with Selma at Brown & Sharpe in North Providence for many years. She was a very special lady, always smiling, always friendly. She had a positive impact on all those she met. She will be missed.
