Robert Fain

Fain, Robert, 77, died Wednesday, March 2 at Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Toby (Lemelman) Fain for 32 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Irving and Sara (Brainson) Fain, he had lived in Providence his entire life. Robert was a graduate of the Moses Brown School in 1956, and a graduate of Babson College. He was the founder of Fain Financial Services with a CLU designation for 45 years, retiring in 2010. He was a lifelong member and head usher of Temple Emanu-El, devoted member of his rotary club, and an avid bridge player. Loving father of David Fain and his wife, Lisa, of Seattle, WA and Dorie Fain of Baltimore, MD.  Dear brother of Jocelyn and Carl Feldman of Riverside.  Adoring grandfather of Talia Rose, Emily Civia, and Toby Buck.  Funeral services will be held Friday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Toby L. Fain Memorial Fund, c/o Temple Emanu-El, 99 Taft Ave., Providence, RI 02906.  Shiva will be observed at  30 Argyle Ave., Riverside, Friday 2-4 and Saturday 7-9 p.m.

    So sad to hear of Bob’s passing. Our family has so many happy memories of Bob ,Toby,David and Dory. They helped make Providence so special for the Starr Family. Bob will be greatly missed.     we are saddened to read about Bob – our boys grew up with dory and david and toby was a very close friend – we were also neighbors. our thoughts are with the entire family . with love, miriam and arthur plitt
