Lilly Flatow

Flatow, Lilly, 94, of Annabel Court, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Gilchrist Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Rudi Flatow. Born in Breslau, Germany, a daughter of the late Max and Julia (Elsner) Brandt, she had lived in Columbia for 9 years, previously residing in Cranston and Providence, Rhode Island. She was an inventory controller for the former Van Dell Corp. in Providence for 20 years, retiring 37 years ago. Lilly was a Holocaust survivor. She was an avid reader and  seamstress and loved to knit and crochet. Devoted mother of Frances Scheick and her husband Edward, of Columbia. Dear sister of the late David and Heinz Brandt and Nelly Fine. Loving grandmother of Erin Scheick and her husband Brandon Yoder and Melanie Campbell and her husband Elliot. Cherished great-grandmother of Ethan, Elena and Griffin. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in LINCOLN PARK CEMETERY, 1469 Post Road, Warwick. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to your favorite charity. Shiva will be private.

    Dear Fran and family,
    I was sorry to hear about Lilly. She and my mom would talk on the phone very often. Your family has given me lots of memories. All good memories.

    Lilly was one of my patients whom I loved. We spent much time discussing her years during and right after the war. My condolences to the family.
