Perlman, Muriel J., of Tamarisk, died Friday, July 24, 2015, at Tamarisk, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Cantor Dr. Ivan E. Perlman. They were married for 67 years. Born in New York, NY, an only child, and daughter of the late Thomas R. and Sophie (Adelstein) Herman, she had lived in Boca Raton, FL, and Providence, before moving to Warwick 8 years ago. Muriel was a charter member of West Bay Community Jewish Center, a member of Temple Emanu-El in Providence and its Sisterhood, a former member of Temple Beth Kodesh in Boynton Beach, FL, Tifereth Israel Synagogue in Des Moines, IA, and the former Jewish Home for the Aged in Providence. She was past president of the Jewish War Veterans Women’s Aux. in Des Moines. Devoted mother of Rabbi Eli Perlman and his wife Lynne of East Brunswick, NJ, Cantor Emanuel Perlman and his wife Janice of Baltimore, MD, Rabbi Richard Perlman and his wife Kit of Coventry, and Cantor Josh Perlman and his wife Sherri of Germantown, MD. Loving grandmother of 13 and great-grandmother of 8. Graveside funeral services will be held Sunday at 11:00 AM LINCOLN PARK CEMETERY, 1469 Post Rd., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, the mitzvah of giving a charitable contribution can be fulfilled by donating to: The Jewish Seniors Agency of RI, 100 Niantic Ave, Providence, RI 02907; The Phyllis Siperstein Tamarisk Assisted Living Residence 3 Shalom Dr, Warwick, RI 02886; West Bay Community Jewish Center, 2 Brenda Drive, Coventry, RI 02816, or the charity of your choice. Due to the observance of Tisha B’Av, there will be no meal of condolence following the cemetery service as we observe the fast. Shiva will be observed at the home of Rabbi Rick and Kit Perlman, 2 Brenda Drive, Coventry RI, on Sunday – Thursday 2-4 PM & 7-9 PM and on Friday 2-4 PM. A Shiva Minyan will be held mornings at 7:00 AM at Tamarisk Assisted living Monday – Friday. All evening Mincha and Ma’ariv services will be held at the Shiva Home at 6:30 PM.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of mrs Perlman she was a wonderful woman as was her husband a wonderful and caring man. I was a caretaker for the cantor before the move to tamarisk I spoke with her shortly after they moved and they were very happy there.
