My prayers go out to you and Dr. Fixman’s family. Your wife was excellent at what she did–she helped me through many crises in the last few years and always showed a genuine concern for me. Words cannot express the loss I feel, yet I know that your loss is even greater. Know that Dr. Fixman was greatly admired and appreciated for her kindness and professionalism.

My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Laura Fixman. Dr. Fixman is the main reason I am vital today. The world has lost a kind, beautiful, and intelligent woman. I am so sorry for your loss and your pain. I deeply wanted to attend the service at Temple this morning, but have an assignment to teach in Pawtucket. I know Dr. Laura will be happy as I dedicate my ability to give back to her soulful giving to me.
A life well lived. Thankyou for touching my life and being my mirror.

This morning I was catching up on yesterday’s newspaper and found the obituary for my wonderful psychiatrist of the past 16 years, Laura Fixman. To her husband and family: I am deeply sorry for your loss. She was so young and filled with life! I just saw her in the Warwick office a few weeks ago. Laura’s care helped me continue to live a full life, raise a family and have a good career in spite of the depression and anxiety that would have overwhelmed me otherwise. She amazed me by recalling details about my life and family even though I usually saw her only 3-4 times a year. What a compassionate and sweet person she was, and a true professional in her field. I am grateful for the gift of her life and so very sorry she is gone too soon.

Dr. Fixman was very special to many people including myself. Her help was invaluable. We worked together around 11 or 12 years. The one thing i can say is that Dr. Laura fixman always listened to me before prescribing me medicine. She helped me get through several hospitalizations. I will never forget her and I will miss her much. My blessings and sympathy to her family and co-workers as well.

To the friends and families of Dr. Fixman, as I knew her. She has been my doctor/confidant for the past 4 1/2 years. I called this morning for an appt to share with her the lil light that I was starting to see at the end of this long tunnel I had been in. I was shocked and immediately speechless as I was told the news….I wish I could have told her that thru these hard years that she has taught me the coping strategies that I needed…….somehow I believe she sees me tho I didnt actually get to tell her. I have a hole in my heart and am so very sorry for your huge loss. Rest in peace, my friend

Dr. Fixman was only my psychiatrist for about a year, but the first psychiatrist that I felt listened and understood my needs. I’ve made quite an improvement from just a year ago, and I couldn’t have done it without her. I just wanted to say thank you so much, Dr. Fixman, for helping me to be able to live with joy and purpose again.
Please rest easy, and know that you’ve improved many lives.

My last appointment with Dr. Fixman was March 23,2015. Then a message was left on my phone a few weeks later that Dr. Fixman would not be able to keep our June 22nd appointment to please call the office, which I kept putting off until today . I just called the office to reschedule and they gave me the news of her death. Dr. Fixman listened to me when I shared the passing of my brother , my mother,my nephew, and my sister. She is the only physiatrist who spent time listening and not just to write out a script. To her family I would like to say God bless you all.

To the family of Dr. Laura Fixman – My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you. I learned of Dr. Fixman’s passing today when I tried to call the office. She was my psychiatrist for over 3 years and always available whether it was a phone call to talk with me or to follow-up on a medication refill. Her commitment to her patients and their well being was amazing! I will always remember talking to her about my cats and she would share stories about her cats. She loved cats! I will miss her greatly.
