Irwin Covinsky
Covinsky, Irwin, 83, of Delray Beach, FL, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at Sunny View Nursing Home, Warwick. He was the beloved husband of Gloria (Shatz) Covinsky. Born in Providence, a son of the late Louis and Rose (Weinberg) Covinsky, he had lived in Delray Beach and Narragansett. He was an Air Force veteran serving in the Korean Conflict in the 102nd AC & W Squadron. Irwin was a member of Jewish War Veterans Post #23, Redwood Lodge of the Masons and a life member of Providence Hebrew Free Loan Association. Devoted father of Hope Schachter of Rumford, Robin Porter of Narragansett and the late Debra Covinsky. Dear brother of Adele Snyder of Dallas, TX. Loving grandfather of Sabra, Joshua, Lacey and Scott. Cherished great grandfather of Jordan. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in SHALOM MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 1100 New London Ave., Cranston. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Parkinson’s Association. Gloria and Family, so very sorry to hear of your husband Irwin passing. I remember him coming into my dad’s restaurant for breakfast with the guys all the time. I’m sure he will be missed by a lot of people. RIP
