Millman, Carole, 78, died Monday, September 22, 2014, at home. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Sidney and Mildred (Marks) Backman, she had lived in Cranston for 18 years. Carole was a bookkeeper for many years as well as a salesperson in several retail businesses. She was a graduate of Hope High School, Class of ’53. Carole was a member of B’nai B’rith, a life member of Temple Beth-El and its Sisterhood and a life member of Brown Hillel. She was the loving wife of the late Harvey Millman. Devoted mother of Richard Millman and his wife, Vickie, of Sommerville, NJ and Estelle Millman and her husband, Stephen DeQuattro, of Rumford. Dear sister of twins Samuel Backman and his wife, Carolyn, of Springfield, VA and Adrienne Uffer and her husband, Martin, of Cranston. Loving bubby of Matthew, Joshua and Adam. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in TEMPLE BETH-EL, 70 Orchard Ave., Providence. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Temple Beth-El, VNA Hospice, or Brown Hillel. Visiting hours will be held at the home of Estelle Millman, 271 Wilson Ave., Rumford, Saturday 7-9 and Sunday 1-3 p.m.

    I had the pleasure of working with Carole for many years at Filene’s. She was a hard worker with a tender heart. I know that she will be missed by her many friends from Filene’s. Sending wishes for comfort & peace to Carole’s family.
