The daughter of Matthew E. and Jeanette (Goldstein) Segool, Dorothy was born on January 10, 1924 in Boston, MA. As a child, Dorothy moved to Providence, RI. Following her graduation from Hope High School in 1942 she enrolled in Pembroke College. Because of the war, she was in an accelerated program and graduated with honors in 1944. She left us as we all would expect, with humor and strength and her loved ones and even her doctor laughing and crying by her side. The cancer she valiantly battled over the last year took an unexpected turn for the worse and took her over a matter of days. We are grateful for the quality of life she enjoyed until her passing and the time we were all able to share with a woman whose heart was as big as her personality. Born in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late Lee and Ann (Shane) Ryvicker, he had lived in RI for 38 years. He was a dedicated diagnostic radiologist at Miriam Hospital and its offices until his retirement in 2012. He cared deeply about his patients receiving the best possible care.
